Chengchen Qian serves as a Project Manager at the Global Infrastructure Basel (GIB). He is currently spearheading efforts for the FAST-Infra Label Secretariat and overseeing the EU HORIZON’s adaptation project, Pathways2Resilience.
Before his tenure at GIB, Chengchen dedicated 5 years to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), where he specialized in Sustainable Infrastructure. His primary focus lay in assisting Asian and African nations in their transition towards a Green Economy. This involved setting agendas, initiating policy reforms, and bolstering capacity building. Earlier in his career, Chengchen was an environmental auditor in the chemicals sector and an environmental engineer at various wastewater treatment plants, employing Nature-based Solutions (NbS).
Chengchen holds an M.Sc. in Process, Energy, and Environmental Systems Engineering from the Technical University of Berlin. While he is a Chinese citizen, his diverse work experiences have taken him across China, Germany, Bahrain, and Switzerland.
