Emily Simpson
Junior Project Officer

Emily moved to Switzerland to complete her master’s degree in international development at the Geneva Graduate Institute and decided to stay. As a Junior Project Officer, Emily’s main role with GIB is to support the S2Cities Programme. She is promoting stakeholder engagement by facilitating the Global Convening where all stakeholders come together to exchange, learn, and inspire. She is also working on project communications and expanding S2Cities’ private sector partnerships. Emily has a bachelor’s degree in cultural and regional studies that is complimented by 4+ years of experience working and studying in Latin America, West and Central Africa, and South Asia. Prior to joining GIB, Emily worked as a consultant for the Alliance for Local Service Oranizations, supporting the development of the Underserved Technical Assistance Project as part of a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women. She also worked with TrustWorks Global building corporate profiles used to promote conflict-sensitivity and SDG 16 in partnership with Pury Pictet Turrettini’s Cadmos Peace European Engagement Fund. Emily’s personal and professional ambition is to foster inclusive dialogue and collaboration that promotes peaceful and sustainable development.
